On June 28, 2007, with the second pick in the NBA Draft, the Seattle SuperSonics selected Kevin Durant from the University of Texas.
Durant was in Seattle for just a year before the team relocated to Oklahoma City. But for that one year he put on a show for the Sonics fans. He averaged 20.3 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game, numbers good enough to name him as the 2007 - 08 Rookie of the Year.
Durant was the first Sonic to win the ROY award, but hopefully not the last.
