Throughout the early 1960’s Bob Gibson’s career as a pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals was beginning to take off. In 1964 after leading the “Redbirds” to a National League pennant, Gibson would get the win in Game 5 and then again in Game 7 to become both a World Series champion and the series MVP. Voted the Cy Young Award winner in 1969, Gibson would also collect nine Gold Glove awards before being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981.
