Bill Barber grew up in Callander, Ontario with hopes of playing professional hockey. After spending countless hours practicing on the homemade rink built by his father, Barber was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in 1972. After being called up from the minors, Barber made an immediate impact and racked up 64 points in his rookie debut. After his rookie season Barber was moved from center to left wing and worked alongside Bobby Clarke, bringing Philadelphia two consecutive Stanley Cup titles.
