Description
The 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates finished atop the National League East and squared off against the Giants for the pennant. Behind the offensive power of Roberto Clemente the Bucs captured the pennant and faced the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series. Clemente helped the Pirates capture their first World Series title since 1960 by batting an impressive .414 and taking home the MVP award. The Pirates became innovators by introducing a new style of uniform in the poly-knit pull over.
