In 1977, the New York Yankees captured their second consecutive American League Pennant, defeating the Kansas City Royals in the American League Championship Series. The Yankees were led by Reggie Jackson, who was acquired after the 1976 season. Jackson, who released his famed Reggie Bar during the summer of 1977, powered the Yankees past the Los Angeles Dodgers for their first World Series title since 1962. Donned with the name‘Mr. October,’ Jackson homered three times off three different Dodger pitchers in the sixth game of the World Series. Jackson also helped lead the Yankees to the 1978 World Series over the Dodgers.
