The National Football League was established in 1920 at a car dealership in Canton, Ohio. The game of football began to flourish and gain national acceptance through its exposure at the professional level. The 1994 NFL season marked the 75th Anniversary of the leagues existence. Each team honored the longevity of the reputable league by wearing a commemorative patch. Throughout the season teams dressed in updated versions of their older style uniforms. The Dallas Cowboys enjoyed success in their time honored piece as they won the NFC East with a 12-4 record. The Cowboys battled it out with the San Francisco 49ers in a rematch of the 1993 NFC title game, this time falling short in a 38-28 loss. Cowboys wide out Michael Irvin pulled in 79 passes for 1,241 yards, among the leagues best, as he was named to his fourth Pro Bowl.
