In 1976 Tony Dorsett led the University of Pittsburgh to a national title, winning the Heisman Trophy along the way. The Dallas Cowboys selected Dorsett in the first round of the 1977 draft. Dorsett had a tremendous rookie season as he rushed for 1,007 yards while reaching the end zone 12 times. The NFL reward Dorsett’s standout rookie campaign with the Rookie of the Year award. The explosive Cowboy offense and stifling defense teamed up for a Super Bowl XII title by defeating the Denver Broncos, the team with which Dorsett finished his career.
