Bob Feller had a fastball that set the standard for others to follow. "Rapid Robert," finished with 266 victories and 2,581 strikeouts with the Cleveland Indians, the only team he ever played for.
At 17 Bob Feller struck out 17 batters and remains only one of two players ever to strike out their age. He struck out 15 batters in his first big league start leading the Cleveland Indians to a 4-1 victory over St. Louis in 1936. He was the first pitcher to win 20 or more games before the age of 21 and has pitched three no-hit games in his career.
