Description
In 1984, the Cincinnati Bengals drafted Boomer Esiason, a talented southpaw quarterback from the University of Maryland. Boomer steadily developed into one of the league's premiere quarterbacks, earning his first Pro Bowl trip for his performance during the 1986 season. It was during the 1988 season that Esiason earned MVP honors while leading the Bengals to Super Bowl XXII. Esiason passed for 3,572 yards in 1988, completing 28 touchdown passes.
