Boston Red Sox 1908 Road light weight wool flannel blend jersey # 00
In 1908, the Red Sox nickname was officially adopted by Boston’s American League Baseball club. The Red Sox played their home games at Huntington Avenue Grounds, which was the scene of the first modern day perfect game. The centerfield fence at Huntington Avenue Grounds was 635 feet from home plate, the longest distance in all of baseball. With the new hit ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’ hitting the charts, the 1908 Red Sox finished 15 ½ games behind the pennant winning Detroit Tigers.
